Warrior
Fighters represent the rank
and file of those adventurers who seek to solve problems by
the application of direct physical force. Their field of
expertise is, of course, weapons and combat skills, but
they also can pick up some related non-combat skills. The
fighter advances quickly, moreso than the various
specialized warrior types.

Thief
Thieves are a marginal class.
They do few things better than any other class, but have
the widest range of skills available. Thieves are
specialists at thievery and covert actions, being capable
of entering areas undetected where more powerful
adventurers would fear to tread. They are better fighters
than clerics, but lack the wide weapon selection of
warriors.

Secondary Stats: Agility, Luck
Cleric
Clerics are the most
defensively orientated of all the classes. Most of their
spells focus on healing or defending the faithful, with
their few combat spells being far less powerful than those
of mages. However, clerics are the best class by far at
healing magics, and they posess an impressive area of
protective magics, as well as fair combat prowess.

Secondary Stats: Charisma, Discipline
Mage
Although mages specialize in
casting spells, they cast no better than most. Mages have
the highest-powered magic of any class, and are the only
classes able to use the draconian and enchanting spell
groups. They are also very skilled at the use of magical
items, though their combat skills are the weakest of any
class.

Secondary Stats: Wisdom, Agility
Gladiator
Gladiators are the ultimate
combat enthusiasts. Gladiators are focused on one thing,
and one thing only : COMBAT!!!! This is good, because
weapon combat is what gladiators do best. They give up
almost all other skills to learn more combat skills faster
than most people.
Prime stat: Vitality
Secondary Stats: Strength, Agility
Samurai
Samurai are warriors whose
lives are based on honor, with the exception of the Ronin
(lordless samurai). Samurai are fighters with an eastern
flair, who can more easily learn the martial arts than
their traditional western counterparts. They also invoke
spirit power in the form of spells of two kinds : elemental
(especially fire) and personal enhancements. They can draw
on a small collection of divinely inspired magics to keep
themselves pure to their cause.

Secondary Stats: Discipline, Strength
Paladin
Paladins are fighters devoted
to fighting the all-encompassing battle between good and
evil and often develop their own peculiar ideas about the
religion they are professing. Paladins sometimes generate
these ideas from visions they receive while in altered
mental states. Paladins are unfailingly egocentric. This is
what set them on the career path that they're on, as
opposed to simply joining the military or clergy. They
often make themselves out as prophets or even gods, and
more or less believe this delusion. The culmination of the
Paladin Syndrome is a powerful warrior with divine gifts,
making a truly formidable foe to the opposing moral power.

Assassin
Assassins are merciless
killers for hire. They will bring in a bounty dead or alive
without a tinge of guilt either way. Most typically prefer
the "dead" option, but will take live bounties for the
right price. Unscrupulous assassins have collected on their
best friends, on their siblings or parents. The only person
no bounty hunter has yet been known to collect on is
themselves, but certainly if the truth were untangled,
there would probably be a few cases of this, now that death
is dead. The fact that there is no longer a definative end
to life has put a crimp in the assassins livelihood, but
not in their passion for their work; Assassins still love
to hack or explode their victims into tiny bits, even if
they know they'll be back later.
**WARNING:
All Assassins begin the game as permanent
pkillers.**

Ninja
Ninjas are masters of fist,
blade, and spell. They can move undetected using both
stealth and magic to hide in shadow. Ninjas can be deadly
opponents in combat, but prefer subterfuge and
misdirection. They are second only to monks in their
martial arts prowess. A skilled ninja can take on any
challenge due to their well-rounded set of abilities.
Prime Stat: Agility
Secondary Stats: Discipline, Intelligence
Monk
Aarchon has one primary
monastic order, and hence the sect has no need for a name
to differentiate itself. They are simply the monks. The
monks have a natural religion with no hint of theism or
dogma. They meditate day and night, seeking greater
understanding of the Universe and its curious inhabitants,
humanoid and otherwise. Monks scorn the use of weapons. At
high levels, they may learn a few weapons, but they more or
less limit themselves to the use of their own bodies as
tools of defense. They have mastered the martial arts, and
can often accomplish more with their bodies than any
barbarous warrior can with their swords.

Secondary Stats: Wisdom, Agility
Templar
Templars are an ancient order
of religious nobility who have outlasted, as a politcal
force, any of the passing trends of monarchy, revolution,
or capitalism. Since the shattering, they have come to be
the supreme governing body, since only they have been
represented in virtually all time frames. They fight to
preserve order and the privilege that lets such as they
remain in the noble class. Despite their religious rites,
beliefs, and dogma, they do not preach to the masses,
although they do impose their morals on them. Templars are
the lawyers, beurocrats, police, and officials who hold
Bastion together. Because of their status, they have the
time to pursue a formal education, including subjects like
magic theory, making them skilled in both magic and
clerical prayer.
Prime Stat: Wisdom
Secondary Stats: Charisma, Intelligence
Illusionist
Illusionists are masters of
deception. Through slight of hand, smoke, mirrors, and
truly awesome feats of magic, they can make things appear,
disappear, and transform at will. They are experts at
twisting the mind through impossible sensory experiences
and direct mental pressure. Illusionists are scam artists,
and can sometimes bilk the populace out of their money on a
far grander scale than any thief could dream of. When this
fails, their nimble fingers and awe-inspiring distractions
help them to take it in a more direct fashion.

Gunslinger
Gunslingers adapt to almost
any situation ... As long as it is in reach of a gun.
Gunslingers begin their careers fairly helpless but towards
the upper levels they achieve the ultimate mastery of their
chosen weapons, and more than a little wisdom about the
ways of the world. Before their journeys are through, they
learn not only how to handle a gun, but also numerous
crucial survival skills.
Prime Stat: Luck
Secondary stats: dexterity, constitution
Ranger
Rangers are skilled in the
arts of wilderness survival, and have little use for
cities. They are most at ease in natural surroundings and
are masters of hunting and trapping. They have the most
diverse skills of any class and can go their whole careers
with little need for money or recalls.

Necromancer
Necromancers are followers of
dark magics. Their specialty lies in the raising and
control of undead, and on ritual magic and curses.
Necromancers are currently still in a testing phase, which
means that they will be changed around quite a bit.
So..feel free to play them, but at your own risk. :)
